Weight loss surgery support group meeting

Following the success of our previous weight loss surgery (WLS) meetings, BMI The Alexandra Hospital will hold the next WLS support group meeting on Wednesday 17th September 2008 at The Alexandra Hospital, Cheadle.

Our weight loss surgery patient support groups aim to inform individuals, and also their friends and family, who are considering weight loss surgery (WLS), about gastric banding and gastric bypass operations to help combat obesity.

The evenings offer the opportunity for patients to meet, discuss in a relaxed, friendly atmosphere and feel confident with The Alexandra Hospitals experienced bariatric surgeons.

The Alexandra Hospitals' Bariatric Consultants

The Alexandra Hospital only works with 'gold standard' Bariatric (Obesity) surgeons who are specialists in upper gut and stomach using laparoscopic (keyhole) techniques. They are experienced at working in the NHS and are members of The British Obesity Surgery Society (BOSS). Our Bariatric surgeons are Mr Basil Ammori, Mr Michael van den Bossche, Mr Anselm Agwunobi and Mr Khursid Akhtar

As surgery as just part of the process, we offer a comprehensive aftercare programme to help our patients stay healthy and achieve the best results. Our consultants offer personal ongoing care and support from a team of specialists before, during and long after surgery.
